Located in Puerto Vallarta in the Mismaloya area which I love, the b&b (bed and breakfast) Mar Sereno Hotel & Suites is close to lovely Playa Mismaloya where a seaside restaurant serves great fish fried whole, and the Playa Las Animas (not animals), and close-by is the Vallarta Zoo. With lions, tigers, monkeys, and other quadpeds.
Also nearby is Los Arcos.

Mismaloya is the beach where it all began, a beach that changed the future and destiny of this west-coast Mexican town, from a small picturesque sleepy fisherman town to a large world renowned tourist destination
During the first part of the 19th century, at the mouth of the Cuale River - at that moment in time, inhabited mostly by crocodiles - there were practically no human dwellers. Between the rugged sierra, the ocean and the powerful Ameca River, this beautiful piece of Mexican geography remained isolated from the rest of the world.
When I was there I loved watching the women washing their laundry in the river beating the clothes with stones.
In the event the husband was passing the night in the cantina they would beat the shirt extra hard with big stones yelling take that at the efigy.
And it was here I first enjoyed red snapper deep fried served in its' entirety in a beach restaurant.
Mismaloya comes from Nahuatl: place where they grab fish with their hands. In the case of the lady pounding that shirt with stones the catina was a place where they grabbed dancers with their hands

Shown on left a typical junior suite. Rooms open to balconies. The thirty guestrooms at B&B (bed and breakfast) Mar Sereno Hotel & Suites include ceiling fans of course air conditioning. All units have kitchenettes.

Did you know that Mismaloya is where the 1963 film The Night of the Iguana was filmed.
This beach is a small sandy haven on a beautiful jungle-fringed cove south of Puerto Vallarta where the Mismaloya creek meets the ocean and some local women wash clothes on the rocks (charming), this is where the The Night of the Iguana was filmed in 1963. This movie put Puerto Vallarta on the international map.
There are several restaurants; you can walk around what remains of the old movie set.

Nearby are eateries like Tony's hideaway. For seafood El Jacalito. El Jolla Mismaloya is cute, with an authentic atmosphere; a friendly staff; generous portions.
The fresh catch with mixed seafood and their special sauce is incredible!

Restaurant and bar.

The fact is there is a restaurant at this hotel. But that don't necesarily mean it will be open.
It is known to close from time to time (which is out of our control) for reasons no one knows.
Possible reasons this restaurant may be closed when you get there:

Every 15 minutes a bus runs in front of this hotel which in two minutes takes you to a small town with not only good restaurants but stores to shop and buy food and other suppplies.
Snack Bar at swimming pool area.

Panoramic swimming pool and natural sea water swimming pool.

misconceptions:
a. safety...
At the MexicoTourism Tianguis hosted by Puerto Vallarta and Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, it was stated that Mexico has, a 98 percent repeat visitor rate and 99 out of every 100 visitors recommends our destinations. Despite those rave reviews, many people still hold misconceptions about Mexico.
The shame of it all
learn if Mexico is dangerous the Good Book says The truth will make you free to go ahead and book with me

b. English spoken...
The residents of Puerto Vallarta have one of the highest rates of bilingualism in North America.
English is very widely spoken in restaurants, hotels, stores, and other tourist related services. And should you come across a language barrier, the friendly people of Banderas Bay will do their best to communicate with a mixture of hand signals, funny English, and smiles.
Now not all agencies are trustworthy like us.

Take this one who sold discount tours to China displaying the photo on the left.

But did not tell the good people it was a peak period applying to that discount.
