Sightsee in downtown Montego Bay and explore Rose Hall Great House during this tour led by an expert guide. Visit attractions like the St James Museum Sam Sharpe Square. At Rose Hall, a stately historical mansion, learn the scandalous story of the house's ghostly past.
And nearby is the great Rose Hall mansion.
Rose Hall is a visually impressive home; the most famous in all of Jamaica. Even more so than the Countryman's shack.
It is a mansion in Jamaican Georgian style with a stone base and a plastered upper storey, high on the hillside, with a view over Montego Bay.
Rose Hall was built in the 1770s at a huge cost and subsequently became the property of one John Palmer.
It is placed at a delightful elevation, and commands a very extensive sea view.
Its general appearance has much of the character of a handsome Italian villa.
A double flight of stone steps leads to an open portico, giving access to the entrance hall; on the left of which is the eating-room, and on the right the drawing-room, behind which are other apartments for domestic uses. The right wing, fitted up with great elegance, and enriched with painting and gilding, was the private apartment of the late Mrs. Palmer, and the left wing is occupied as servants’ apartments and offices.
The principal staircase, in the body of the house, is a specimen of joinery in mahogany and other costly woods seldom excelled.
According to legend, a witch, Annie Palmer murdered three husbands haunts the property.
Investigations of the legend concluded that the story was a publicity stunt for the tourist trade to compete with the Salem witch legends of New England.
People like witch stories.
Lemme tel ya bout my mother-in-law sometime.
Rose Hall was bought in 1977 by former Miss USA Michele Rollins and her husband John Rollins.
They refurbished it at great personal expense and conceptualised a tour and museum that showcase Rose Hall's slave history, antique splendor and original fittings.
And former Miss America never done in her old man.
Nor have either of them seen the witch.
Rose Hall also offers night tours that focus on the Annie Palmer legend: supposed locations of underground tunnels, bloodstains, hauntings and murders.
Seances are also held on the property in an attempt to conjure Annie's spirit.
Here witch, come out come out wherever you are.
So for a side-trip from the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall if you can tear yourself away from the show in the outdoor theater, or the tournament-style cornhole game, dance lessons on the pool deck (put your left foot here; your right foot there then turn yourself around), or boat trips and water sports then try something different.
Remember this witch thing is over-rated. So don't be let down if you don't find any. The church pretended to find oodles of witches in France who were just students in the Sorbonne who said stuff the church didn't fancy. Or young girls who took to soldering to liberate their land of invaders and for political reasons were inconvenient to the church, so were deemed witches.
Them so called witches burned during the inquisition were just a means for corrupt pardoners to steal their land and possesions.
Count on a great family all-inclusive holiday here in Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall Jamacia but don't count on finding any witches. These tales tend to be made-up.
So do the mansion just for kicks.

No cooked witches. And if the chef can't respond to your special requests, tell him Annie Palmer will put a spell on him.

The girl with the blue top asks if she seen any witches.
To which they both end up giggling.
Ben Rich is a UCLA engineering alumnus who was also the director of Lockheed’s super high tech aircraft division from 1975 to 1991 or so.
Rich admits that the key to space travel among the stars is not necessarily advanced mechanics, or the ultimate rocket fuel, but something more esoteric – ESP.
Yes anyone can get to Hyatt Ziva Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall Jamaica all-inclusive rather quickly and easily unless they come from a lower east side Manhattan slum with the lights turned off and candles burning atop Chinanti bottles.
And we make it affordable with early booking discounts. One of the main hurdles to reach other worlds has been the sheer distance and time it would take to get there.
Not a problem when going to all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall Jamaica.
Current space shuttles only travel 17,500 miles per hour.
This means that visiting the second nearest star to our planet, Proxima Centauri, a meager 4.22 light years away, would take several life times.
Of course, then there are fuel costs, which would be more than prohibitive using conventionally imagined space travel.
And if they purchase their gas here in Mexico.
Ben toked on this funny looking cigarette and told him that ‘it won’t take a lifetime’ to travel to the stars, but that with ‘ESP’ we can do it easily. He inferred that ‘all things in space and time are connected.’
ESP, or extrasensory perception is the ability to transmit thoughts or events at a distance without actually being there in physical form. Some whom studied mysticism have done it.
I know from experience.
What Ben is getting at is travel by thought.
A different angle is Einstein's approaching and exceeding the speed of light and its' effects on space travel where relative time slows down, mass increases, and in a brief time on the ship many outside years go by.
Coming back down to earth and sunny fun filled Jamaica, have the time of your life here in Hyatt Ziva Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall Jamaica where delicious dinner buffets tempt the pallet.

Jamaica is home to a fascinating culture and some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, and a shopper's dream.
But the biggest inspiration to going was meeting two lovely Jamaican girls this past spring. Ashi and Kala who immigrated from Jamaica to the US when they were teenagers and both go back to visit often.
Now I don't mean Jamaica, Queens. I mean the island in the Caribbean.
Soon our tour days were filled with stories and anecdotes from Jamaica, and learning from Ashi and Kala allowed me to get to know a culture that most people only know from watching TV.
With lush topography of mountains, rainforests and reef-lined beaches. Many of its all-inclusive resorts like the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall are clustered in Montego Bay, with its British-colonial architecture, well known for its diving and snorkeling sites. Jamaica is famed as the birthplace of reggae music, and its capital Kingston is home to the Bob Marley Museum, dedicated to this great singer.
The legends are cute. Like the one about the duppies.
A duppy is a restless spirit. Good duppies are usually deceased family and friends who appear to you in a dream, in order to give advice or information.
Bad duppies are able to do harm, and can be set on someone by using the obeah man.
Duppies talk in high pitched, nasal voices like Hilary Clinton. You may be in the presence of a duppy if your head feels like it is growing, or if you feel an unexplained heat affecting your body. Or you could just be out in the sun too long.
Eating salt will help you chase away a duppy, as duppies don't dig salt as it raises their blood pressure.
You can also run a duppy by wearing your clothes inside out but this will also get people to laugh at you, or shame a duppy by cursing or exposing your private parts.
The latter will not scare away perverts.
Most Jamaicans believe in duppies, or at least in the possibilty that they do indeed exist.

Ol' Hige is a witch who sheds her skin and flies by night, assuming the form of an owl. She harms people by sucking out their breath while they are sleeping, and is especially dangerous to babies.
Ol Hilary is a witch who sheds her emails and lies by day and night.
Ol' Hige's habit of shedding her skin leaves her vulnerable. If you discover her skin, you merely need to put salt and pepper on it. She will be unable to put her skin back on because it will burn her too much. Without her skin, she can be killed.
Babies can be protected from Ol' Hige by placing an open Bible in their cribs, or by using certain charms.

The all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica, offers recreation for the entire family.
Easier to believe than some of the legends.
Nestled along the shores of the sparkling Caribbean Sea, and the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, here is the perfect all-inclusive Jamacian vacation.

About St James Parish:
St. James is a suburban parish where Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall all-inclusive resort it, located on the north-west end of Jamaica.
Its capital is Montego Bay (derived from the Spanish word manteca or lard because many wild hogs were found there, from which lard was made.
The hogs had awful table manners and made poor pets.
Montego Bay was officially named the second city of Jamaica, in 1981, although Montego Bay became a city in 1980 through an act of the Jamaican Parliament.
The parish is the birthplace of the Right Excellent Samuel Sharpe, one of Jamaica's seven National Heroes.
He's Right not Wrong, Excellent, not mediocre.

When the Spanish occupied Jamaica, Montego Bay was an export point for lard, which was obtained from wild hogs in the forests.
At the beginning of the English rule, the parish was one of the poorest; it had no towns, internet access, few inhabitants and little commerce, except for the exported lard.
But look at it now!
There's a Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall Jamaica.
And to see:
Rose Hall Great house is the most famous in the parish. It was built on a hill two miles east of Ironshore in 1770 by John Palmer, who named the house after his beloved wife, Rose.
The house attracts over 100,000 visitors per year, attracted by the legend of The White Witch Of Rose Hall, The wife of John Rose Palmer— who reputedly murdered all three of her husbands, before being strangled by her slaves who didn't like her too much. It is believed that her ghost still haunts the property shouting Boo Boo.
In the Sam Sharpe rebellion of 1831, slaves destroyed the house and it was left in ruins for over a century.
John Rollins, a wealthy American, bought the property in 1966, and restored the house to its former grandeur.

Sam Sharpe Square is located in the centre of town. It displays a life-sized sculpture of Sam Sharpe and his men during the Christmas rebellion in 1831.

Rio de Camorones or the Creek Dome was the source of drinking water until 1893. The dome still stands although it no longer provides drinking water.

Old Fort was built in 1774 to protect the town. The old cannon is still pointing out to sea. Not far from Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall Jamaica.

The Cage was a jail for recaptured runaway slaves. It is now used as a tourist information centre and museum. After trashing the nice house they ran away but were caught.

The Rocklands bird sanctuary is a nice visit. If driving insure you have plenty of windshield washer fluid in the car.
You may feed the birds once inside.

Tiny hummingbirds, perch on your fingers. This interactive session occurs each day.

There's also the Mosino Casino for those who gamble.

Bet ya Rose wasn't any witch. No more of a witch than poor Joan of Arc.

And for shopping there's the Zemi Art Gallery with nick-nacks, arts and crafts, T Shirts, local art, and souvenirs. In the trendy district of Redcliffe Quay.

In the Island Gourmet Boutique find Caribbean gourmet food shop. In this charming rustic setting you will find a wide range of food relayed products procured locally and regionally. From coffees and tea to chocolates, jams, cakes, and jellies. Also find beautiful wood wares such as bowls, cutting boards and serving spoons. Do not miss out on the locally handwoven sea island cotton linens. A souvenir of your holiday in Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall Jamaica.
They say that nearly 750,000 enslaved persons were brought to Jamaica between 1655 and 1807 (most against their will; I mean they weren't being brought to the Hyatt Ziva Jamaica; they were being brought over in chains to work).
The slaves came primarily from the west coast of Africa, Ghana and Biafra and Nigeria.
Although the Jamaicans always felt they came from Ethiopia. They were never to hot in geography.
But they knew they didn't come from Iceland. And they weren't being taken to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica for spa treatments.
In addition, many immigrants arrived from elsewhere around the world. After the abolition of slavery in 1834, workers were brought in from other countries as Jamaica looked for sources of income besides sugar.
But silicon valley Jamaica never took off.
Hyatt Ziva Jamaica did!
Workers from Germany, Ireland and Scotland came for a while (and they got down and boogied).
Asian immigrants came from India and China and eventually workers came from what is now Lebanon who were very lazy.
Today, 92% of Jamaica’s residents are of Black African descent.
East Indians and African-East Indians make up about 3% of the population, while Caucasians represent less than 3%. Chinese and African-Chinese residents compose a little over 1% of the population.
The Chinese make racist jokes:
What’s the difference between a white naked woman and a black naked woman? The white girl is seen in Playboy and the black chick is seen on National Geographic.

In the business center of the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, a Jamaican asked:
Can I get access to the Color Printer?
The staff replied: In this country, you have access to any printer my friend.
Why is there golf at the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall?
So white people could dress up like blacks.
Yes, a few arabs made it over to the island. Mind you they don't often stay here in the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall.
An Arab enters a taxi in Montego Bay, not far from the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall.
Once he is seated he asks the cab driver to turn off the radio because he must not hear music as decreed by his religion and, in the time of the prophet, there was no music, especially Western regae music which is music of the infidel’s and certainly no radios.

A young man truly in love with his girlfriend decided to have her name tattooed on his penis, her name was Wendy, and the tattoo was done while the penis was erect, so when it was not erect all you could see was W Y.
Shortly after the couple was married and they were honeymooning in Jamaica, the man was in a bathroom in Jamaica, and standing next to him was a Jamaican man who also had a W Y on his penis.
The American asked him "Oh isio your lady named Wendy too?"
The Jamaican replied, "No, Mon that says, 'Welcome To Jamaica! Have a Nice Day'"

A Jamaican living in the States was down on his luck. Out of work and broke, he started going around to various companies in the city begging for a job, any job. Finally he got to the zoo. The zookeeper looked stressed out. "The monkey escaped last night", the zoo-keeper said, "if you are willing to put on a monkey suit and stand in the monkey's cage for a couple days, I'll pay you"
The Jamaican immediately accepted. The pay was good, and the work wasn't hard. He swung from the tree, and the children fed him fruits and nuts.
He actually started enjoying himself 1.
He even started adding a few acrobatic moves.
Late in the afternoon he swung a bit too hard, he lost his grip and flew clean out of the monkey cage and landed in the lion cage next door.
The lion let out a huge roar and our friend in the monkey suit bawled out, "LAWD GOD, MI DEAD NOW".
The mean lion immediately pounced on him, grabbed him by the throat and whispered, "Man shut yuh raas, if yuh evah mek mi lose dis wuk I rip you apart."

“When was the last time you told your wife that you love her?
None could remember at all.
