suite at Be Hotel TulumThe Spa in hotel Be Tulum is a space dedicated to the body and mind and spirit. Professionals provide treatments with the best equipment, it is unforgetable.

As is the Tulum National Park which is just a few kilometers north of the hotel.

The diversity of the park's flora and fauna, numerous cenotes (sink holes) of fresh waters, objects of cult for the ancient Mayas, and an ancient mysterious archaeological compound, are the reasons that make Tulúm an awesome eco-Archaeological Park with many hectares of life, history and adventure.
Beyond the walled City of Tulúm, built by the Mayas on solid cliffs, the Park presents different types of vegetation, with fringes of herbaceous and creeping plants with some weeds thrown in.
There are also communities of shrubs and trees with specimens reaching up to five metres of height, such as the coconut palm tree (Cocus pocus*).
*if you say this three times you create a magic spell.
The chit (no sh-t) (Thrinax Radiata) and the chechen palm trees (Metopium Brownei) are on the coastal zones (do you care?).
There are attractive natural settings inhabited by fauna proper of the tropical zones, with birds such as the calandra lark (Icterus cuculltu), so be sure to bring windshield washer fluid if you're driving.
Seabirds such as the pelican (Pelecanus occidenatalis) won't mess up your windshield.
Amongst the mammals we have the anteater (Tamandua mexicana) (John the Baptist ate grasshopers in the dessert) (profeta biblica), the grey squirrel (Sciurus aureogaster) and the tepezcuintle or agouti (Agouti paca), a large rodent, (mickey mouse). Every year the sea turtles arrive on its shorelines to lay their eggs. The spectacle is simply impressive, and the eggs delicious, but you can't eat them.
A unique natural experience that allows appreciating the white turtles (Chelonia mydas), the loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) and the leatherbacks (Dermochelys coriacea) on their struggle to perpetuate their species.
They are all on the brink of extinction. So don't eat the eggs nor buy turtle products or turtle oils.

This natural and historical area was declared a National Park in April of 1981 and an Archaeological Monumental Zone in December of 1993. It is located in the Municipality of Solidaridad, 3 kilometres north of the Town of Tulúm, and a few kilometers north of Be Tulum hotel.

botana on beach at Be Hotel TulumThe beach club in hotel Be Tulum full service for a memorable day on the beach; bar, restaurant, bathrooms and showers, and beach chairs for the guests of the hotel Be Tulum. Full moon, starry sky, exotic flavors, nature, the sound of the waves, lights from boats on the horizon, fine wine, fine dining in the restaurant right by the sea.

Tulum was one of the earliest resorts in ancient Mexico, offering a place of worship and solitude for the Mayan Kings, clergy, Gods, and pesants in times since past; and is now for YOU.
The tropical beach backdrop is the main attraction of this picturesque, much-visited Mayan ruin on the shores of the Caribbean Sea.
Shortly after your arrival, you will understand why early Mayans chose this beautiful place to hang out.
Figure LOTS of people and tour groups at the archaeological site.
To avoid crowds, best to stay overnight with lodgings in Tulum HERE at Be Tulum and visit the ruins early in the morning before the buses arrive, or later in the afternoon. Morning is recommended since you can catch spectacular vistas when the sun is rising over the Caribbean.

Tulum was a major thing in the Mayan trade network. Both land and sea routes converged here. Artifacts found here confirm this. And who knows while you're collecting shells on the pristine beach you may come across an artifact or two.
The first European to see Tulum was Juan Grijalva and his Spanish friends back in 1518. Then they returned bringing intolerance.
Modern explorers include Stephens and Frederick Catherwood around 1841.
Now it's your turn!

Later on in life after exploring the Mayan world, ol Catherwood wanted to make some bread, so with the California Gold Rush Catherwood moved to San Francisco, California to open up a store to supply miners and prospectors, which he considered a more likely way to make money than digging holes and dirtying his hands to get the gold himself. His store didn't do too well as most miners did the Walmart next door.

Before the little store , he wrote a book Incidents of Travel in Central America, Chiapas, and Yucatan, published in 1841, with text by Stephens and engravings based on the drawings of Catherwood. Never made the New York Times best seller list. The public prefered James Grishmam novels and such.
Tulum is prominent in the work by Catherwood and Stephens. Mind you they never mention Be Hotels Tulum in the book.
The book also relates fascinating Mayan history. And their experiences in this special land.

Truly amazing place, if you love nature and luxury together that is the perfect place. The small buildings of wood and stone truly blends in with the surrounding jungle. The little path ways going from the reception to the beach are truly gorgeous. It's quiet, just the sounds of the birds and jungle.

Both the NY Times and English Telegraph newspapers claim the world's best beaches are found in Tulum.

A vacation in Tulum on the beach isn't complete without visiting the ancient Mayan ruins that adorn the cliffs above the ocean.
You can explore this ancient walled city and should see the Castillo, or castle as it is called, the largest of the surviving structures.
Other interesting structures include the Temple of the Descending God and the Temple of the Frescoes, with its walls of painted murals.

The Tulum archeological site has one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.
Jump in the turquoise waters in the Tulum ruins and swim north to Boca Paila [beats swimming the English Channel kids]. Even if you are just going to visit the ruins it is still quite an experience to swim out on the ruins beach and see the ruins from the water. On a summer day it is too cool.

Be Hoteles Tulum beach resort in Akumal Tulum

This resort located on one of the lovliest beaches in Akumal.
Hotel on the beach with a short distance from the town of Tulum. Spa.

Welcome to the magic of Tulum. Adults only vacation in the Mayan Riviera. Move your mouse over the top photo to the left for more Tulum ecological sounds.
Now
now imagine a romantic dinner in hotels in Tulum on the beach.
Now
move your mouse over the bottom photo to enjoy the beautiful Prelude by Chopin with your dinner.
Make sure
your speakers are on. Enjoy.

Located in the Riviera Maya in Tulum only 60 minutes south of the airport off the Carretera Chetumal-Cancun. The archeological zone of Tulum is 5 minutes away. Just south of Puerto Aventures .

Adults only hotel spa.

Tulum the town is either a very small city or a pretty large town; who can say.
If you say it's a large town no argument from me. Either way for sure there's no Broadway.
This is where many of the locals live who work in the resorts and hotels.
When you go into the town maybe you'll meet that atentive waiter from the Be Hotel restaurant or the nice maid who attends to your lodgings in Tulum.
Many support workers such as bus drivers and construction workers live here as well. In squalor.
It is a diverse population with everything from computer programmers to dive instructors and the odd candelstick maker.
The ruins of Tulum sit on top over a rugged coastline, a strip of brilliant beach and turquoise waters that'll leave you awed.
It’s true the extents and structures are of a modest scale and the late post-Classic design is inferior to those of earlier, more grandiose projects – but, look, the Maya didn't have the budget nor financing.
By the way did you know we offer interest free financing for BeHoteles in Tulum.
The castle is the structure closest to the ocean offering views if you climb the steps.
Close-by is the temple of frescos (Mayan paintings on the stone walls. Stuff like Chicho Puc Chuc and Eli Belle forever within a heart.)
Many platforms you can climb.
Bring your bathing suit so you can do the beach afterwards. And if you opt for a guide ask for ID.
Or the local carpenter who knows nothing about ruins will give you a superficial tour like here's a platform built a long time ago.
Oficial guides are certfied and trained to give good tours.
Prices negotiable.

Two archaeologists were excavating a tomb in the Yucatan.
Arceoligist.1: I just found another tomb of a mummefied Mayan!
Archeoloigist 2: Are you serious?
Arch 1: No bones about it!

what did the old Mayans do for amusement?:
The Mayans main form of entertainment was their ball game.
It was played in special courts that were built in an I shape.
There were two teams and stone hoops attached to the sides or opposite ends of the court.
Ads appeared on the left and right like try Pancho Chac Pool's tortillas.
The goal was to get the rubber ball through these hoops and the two teams fought against each other for this.
The ball being larger than the hoops caused a problem.
Unlike modern ball games, this one required the ball to be bounced off hips, forearms and shoulders instead of throwing. Onlookers, players, gamblers, sponsors and everyone became a part of this. Before and after the game the priests would perform ceremonies.
Nobody paid the ceramonies much mind.
